"Now to Him who is able to do exceedingly abundantly above all that we ask or think, according to the power that works in us, to Him be glory in the church by Christ Jesus to all generations, forever and ever. Amen." Ephesians 3:20-21 NKJV

"God is bigger than all of this," we say, but do we honestly believe it? Circumstances are inevitable. If we are not careful, they can become so overwhelming that they can ultimately cloud our view of God. When this happens, we kick God out of the picture completely giving the enemy room to set up camp, rule in our hearts, and in turn make idols out of our circumstances. It is easy to do because circumstances are tangible. We can touch them, see them, hear them, smell them, and eat them for breakfast. We say we believe in Him, but we believe feebly. We say we trust in Him, but we trust reluctantly. We say that He is big, but we put Him in a box.
God is a jealous God. After all, He made us. Furthermore, since He is a jealous God and since He made us, He wants to then be brought into every single circumstance we have. He is limitless and we are limited. When we bring Him into our circumstances, our circumstances become smaller and more manageable because He then becomes bigger. Through it, He can do amazing things. In contrast, if we let our circumstances rule our hearts and minds, God becomes smaller and our circumstances then become difficult to bear and it becomes difficult for us to see God for the all-knowing, all-powerful, amazing God that He is. After all, He wants to be the ruler over us; not our circumstances.
