Enjoy Him Completely

Writer: Hannah BakerHannah Baker

"These things I have spoken to you, that my joy may be in you, and that your joy may be complete."

John 15:11

I have never equated the song, "Joy to the World" to the second coming of Christ until one of my pastors pointed it out in a most recent Christmas sermon one Sunday. Now, with this new found knowledge, it has given me a new perspective on how I celebrate Christmas. It is so easy to celebrate the birth of Christ on Christmas and the death and resurrection of Christ at Easter. However, without a first coming, We cannot celebrate a second coming.

I have always loved the number seven. However, it was not until two years ago that He revealed to me through some circumstances in life that the reason He gave me the number seven was so that I am made complete in Him and that my identity is in Him. Now, He is showing me how to enjoy Him completely and see everything that He has done and will do--I am celebrating it. Firstly, His birth, Secondly, His life on this earth, Thirdly, His death and resurrection and finally His return. Everything.

The road to His birth was a very long and treacherous journey, but God was with Mary and Joseph throughout it all and they completed the journey in humble obedience. Through it, light came. His light. He came. Also, in a similar manner, the road to Calvary on that Good Friday was also long and treacherous, but He went in obedience. Regardless, of that Holy Saturday as deafening as the silence was, light was still brought with His resurrection on that Sunday. He rose. From that day forward, no matter how long, dark and treacherous the nights may get, we have to remember that He is coming back to bring us to His Heavenly light. Knowing this, makes me fall down on bended knee and enjoy Him by worshipping Him completely--- not just on Christmas and Easter, but each and every day.
